None of the Korean female golfers participated in the Hilton Grand Venations Tournament of Champions, which was the opening game of the LPGA Tour in 2023. There were five players who were eligible to participate at the time, but none of the Korean golfers participated. 2023 was the only time that no Korean female golfers participated in the event, which has been held since 2019.

Fortunately, three players, Yoo Hae-ran, Yang Hee-young and Jeon In-ji, participated last year. Unfortunately, there was no player in the "top 10."

However, five Korean female golfers are actively seeking to win this year's opening game. Ko Jin-young, Kim Hyo-joo, Yang Hee-young, Yoo Hae-ran and Kim Arim have been on the list of participants for this year's event, which will take place at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club (par 72) in Orlando, Florida for four days from Thursday (local time).

The tournament, which will feature 32 players without a cutoff, has the largest number of U.S. players with 10, followed by South Korean players with five. Takeda Rio, who won the Toto Japan Classic last year, is the only rookie to participate, with a total of four Japanese players.

Last year's world No. 2 Lydia Ko (New Zealand) and No. 1 Nelly Korda (USA) will participate in this year's competition, but No. 3 Lin Looning (China), No. 4 Gino Thitikul (Thailand), and No. 5 Lilia Bu (USA) are missing from the world's top five. 안전놀이터

Fifteen Korean female golfers will compete in the Founders Cup (February 6-9), which is the second competition of the season and the first "Full Field" competition.

Following the season opener, Ko Jin-young and Kim Hyo-joo will compete in two consecutive tournaments, including Choi Hye-jin, Im Jin-hee, Lee Mi-hyang, Lee So-mi, Jeon In-ji, Park Sung-hyun, Lee Jung-eun 6, Jang Hyo-joon, Jeon Ji-won, Ji Eun-hee, Park Keum-gang and Joo Soo-bin. World No. 1 Nelly Korda and world No. 2 Lydia Ko will also compete in two tournaments in a row at the beginning of the season to compete against Korean female golfers.

In this competition, not only Takeda Rio, but also Japanese rookies such as Akie Iwai, Chisato Iwai, and Yuki Baba will compete for the first time against Yun Ina.

Last year, Korean golfers won only three games together. It was the lowest number in 13 years since their three wins in 2011. Korda alone won seven games, more than twice as many as Korea's total.

Soon, the "KOREA vs KORDA" match will begin again.
